Westmead Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking an experienced Full-Time Senior Occupational Therapist to support our growing inpatient and day rehabilitation programs.
This opportunity offers a significant impact on patients’ recovery and quality of life and allows you to utilise your advanced skills and leadership abilities to guide and mentor junior staff. Opportunities to contribute to innovative therapy programs and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate advanced OT services for patients across mixed acute and chronic caseloads. Demonstrate critical thinking and excellent clinical decision-making skills
Leadership & Mentorship: Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and oversight to junior OTs, Allied Health Assistants (AHAs), and students.
Discharge Planning: Contribute to multidisciplinary case conferences & care planning, coordinate goal-setting, execute home visits, and prescribe necessary discharge equipment.
Clinical Governance: Drive service development, quality improvement initiatives, and best-practice care protocols
What you will bring to the role:
3-5 years of hospital based experience in acute and/or rehabilitation setting, including experience supervising staff
Current unconditional AHPRA registration
Full driving licence
Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage a complex caseload with competing priorities.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and effective time management skills
Ability to work flexibly, autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team
