Our heated indoor hydrotherapy pool is an integral part of our rehabilitation program. Hydrotherapy provides buoyancy and assists with reducing pain, helps to strengthen muscles, increases movement and improves walking ability.
New patients commencing hydrotherapy services require a Hydrotherapy Referral and Clearance form. All patients must complete a one-off initial assessment with a physiotherapist prior to commencing regular appointments. This session will include assessment, some treatment and prescription of exercises for hydrotherapy.
If your GP has identified certain medical conditions (e.g. heart, bladder, bowel), a review with one of our rehabilitation specialists may be required prior to your initial physiotherapy assessment. Patients requiring additional supervision in the pool will require one-on-one sessions.
Workers Compensation, CTP (motor accidents) and Lifetime Care and Support patients will require approval from their insurer prior to commencing.
Sessions are available at these times subject to maximum patient volumes:
Session type | Duration | Cost | Health fund code |
Initial Assessment – Physiotherapist (once-off) | 1 hour | $125.00 | 500 |
Hydrotherapy | 1 hour (45min in pool) | $38.00 | 560 |
One-on-one hydrotherapy | 1 hour (45min in pool) | $90.00 | 505 |
A HICAPS machine is available to process your claim on the day and you only need to pay any gap that remains. Please ensure you bring your Health Fund Card to each session if you intend to claim this way.
